Overview and Philosophy

The Marningka Disability Unit at Challa Gardens Primary School comprises three specialised classes, purposefully situated within our school grounds. The unit is named “Marningka,” which translates to “A Good Place” in the local Kaurna language, reflecting our commitment to creating an environment where every student feels safe, valued, and supported.

At Marningka, we foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing community of lifelong learners. Respect, kindness, diversity, and achievement underpin all that we do, and we celebrate the individual strengths of each student. We highly value our partnerships with parents, caregivers, and the broader school community, working collaboratively to build respectful, trusting, and positive relationships. Our staff are dedicated to ensuring that every student feels safe, happy, and encouraged to engage meaningfully with their learning.
